How Do I Activate the BW Flex and Access the Menu?
Introducing the BW Flex Gas Detector

The BW Flex from Honeywell is a portable multi gas detector, designed as a compliance monitor for many applications.
It houses four sensors including LEL, O2, CO and H2S. SO2 is also available as a configuration.

How do I turn on the BW Flex?

To switch your BW Flex on hold in the single button on the front until the screen lights up.

Upon activation the BW Flex will carry out a self test and will show the following:

  • Firmware version
  • BLE Version
  • End of life date for sensors, if any
  • Bump due date per sensor
  • Calibration due date per sensor
  • Low and High alarm setpoint per sensor
  • STEL and TWA alarm setpoints per sensor

Once the the gas detector has completed the self tests it will enter normal measurement mode.

How do I enter the menu of the BW Flex?

To enter the menu of the four gas detector simply press the button twice in quick succession. This will show the first menu item - Info. Moving through the menu can be done using single presses of the button. To access a menu item hold the button down for around 3 seconds until the screen proceeds to the next menu or action. In the menu you fill find some of the following options:

  • Info - information on the unit including serial number and name
  • Bump - begins the bump test process
  • Zero Cal - begins zero calibration process
  • Calibration - begins full calibration process

To exit the menu completely press and hold the button till you reach normal measurement screen on your multi gas detector.

Once you have finished using the Honeywell BW Flex you can switch off the unit by holding the button down for 4 seconds and the unit should close off.
