How Do I Perform a Zero Test on a BW Solo Single Gas Detector?

We explore how to perform a zero test on the BW Solo Gas Detector.

Why Should I Zero-Test My Gas Detector?

Due to the types of environments that the gas detector may be used in, it might be necessary to zero the gas detector once every 24 hours or after a change in environmental conditions. If the ambient air is subject to changes in temperature, humidity and dust then this may well cause gas readings to be inaccurate.

How Do I Zero Calibrate the BW Solo Gas Detector?

To perform the test ensure you are in a fresh-air environment.

On the normal measurement screen push the button on your BW Solo twice in quick succession to enter the menu.  Push the button again until you come to the ‘Zero’ option.  To select this press and hold the button until the Solo counts down.

Once the countdown is complete it will then perform the zero calibration.  The progress bar should show that the detector is being zeroed.  If the unit passes then the message will say ‘Passed’ and if it fails then the screen will read ‘Failed’.

If it’s passed the zero calibration then it will automatically revert back to normal measurement mode on the main screen after 10 seconds.

The BW Solo is available to buy from Frontline Safety now.  View this product on our website.
