How to use the ETI 7250 Moisture Meter

The ETI 7250 Moisture Meter is a digital,  handheld monitor which can be used in building and construction applications.

THIS FRONTLINE SAFETY GUIDE WILL SHOW YOU HOW EASY THE MOISTURE METER IS TO USE.

STEP 1: Remove the black cap

Removing the black cap will provide access to the pins of the ETI 7250 Moisture Meter.  If you're planning to use a different probe with the meter then the standard pins can be easily removed.

Not only does the black cap act as a protective cover for the pins, when turned upside down it can be used as a screwdriver to unscrew the standard pins.  This will allow you to connect your chosen probe (with BNC connection) into the meter.

STEP 2: Choose a scale

ETI Moisture Meter Scales

There are 5 measurement scales available on your ETI Moisture Meter.  There are two for wood, one for plaster, one for concrete and a linear/reference scale.

The linear/reference scale acts as a general scale of moisture measurement for all materials.  It can also be used to cover materials not taken into consideration by scales 1-4 or to compare materials to a dry sample.

STEP 3: Place the pins on the surface

Pressing the pins of the ETI 7250 onto the surface you're looking to measure will provide you with a reading.  The reading will be indicated on the large display onscreen and also through the colour LED bar on the front of the monitor.  This bar will indicate the moisture measurement.

RED: Indicates dampness
AMBER: Warning signal
GREEN: No moisture

This isn't a necessary step, but may be helpful if you need to manually record measurement results.  Pressing the HOLD button on the front of the Moisture Meter will allow you to freeze the current reading.  Hold this in until the word HOLD is displayed at the top of the screen.

Once you've taken a note of your measurement then you simply press the HOLD button again to continue with your monitoring.
