Teledyne GMI Protégé ZM – Top 5 Things You Should Know

In this short guide, we’ll take you through the top 5 things you should know before purchasing the Teledyne GMI Protégé ZM – Single Gas Monitor.

#1 – easy to use and low maintenance

The Protégé ZM is an extremely simple to use gas monitor thanks to its one-button activation, adjustable alarm settings and the easy-to-read display. Switch the monitor on for the first time and the device will do the rest. Once activated the Protégé ZM does not require calibration or charging as it is a disposable monitor. This means the ZM can be deployed in the field 24 hours a day, every day for up to 2 years, hassle free.

#2 – customisable settings

Additionally, the Protégé ZM has a variety of customisable settings. One being hibernation mode, available on the CO and H2S Models, provides users with up to one-year additional operating life. Users can also configure bump and calibration reminders as well as assign or name monitors using a 6-character ID.

#3 – small and portable with high quality performance

The small and lightweight design of the ZM allows it to be placed wherever the user requires. The addition of a stainless-steel alligator clip allows it to be placed near the users breathing space. Meeting IP67 requirements for ingress protection, this monitor is suited to a variety of applications.  On top of this, it hosts a three-point alarm system, including audible, visual and tactile alarms. The Protégé ZM also has multiple LCD display options such as real-time gas reading and monitor life remaining.

#4 – available in 3 different single gas models

This single gas detector is available in hydrogen sulphide (H2S), carbon monoxide (CO), and oxygen (O2). As we touched on earlier, the H2S and CO models have a hibernation feature extending battery life up to one extra year.

#5 – range of compatible accessories

Lastly, there are various accessories that complement the Protégé ZM Single Gas Monitor, such as the Four-Bay Test Station and the IR Connect programmer. The intuitive design and two-button operation of the test station allows a simple setup for any user. With a convenient gas inlet on the side panel any size of calibration gas cylinder can be used. This station supports calibration, hibernating, bumping and the programming of up to four monitors, simultaneously. IR Connect allows users to download event logs and calibrate the device as well as the programming and hibernating of single monitors.

The Protégé ZM is available to purchase at Frontline Safety at a discounted rate, for a limited time only.
