The 8100 Plus pH meter from ETI is a three-in-one instrument with a large, easy to read, LCD display which features both low battery indication and an optional backlight. The display will also indicate pH over the range of 0 to 14 pH with a resolution of 0.01 pH, mV over the range of -999 to 999 mV and temperature over the range of -39.9 to 149.9°C, with a resolution of 0.1°C.
Readings from a pH test will be either manually or automatically temperature compensated over the operating range of 0 to 50°C. A thermistor temperature probe will need to be used to compensate automatically. PH meters can be used for portable laboratory analysis, and the pH levels of any material or substance are defined by the acidity or alkalinity of that substance. This is represented on a scale of 0 to 14 pH, with 7 pH representing neutral, 0 pH as acidic and 14 pH as alkaline. Advantages of the 8100 Plus pH meter from ETI include an auto-power-off facility which automatically turns off the instrument after 10 minutes (maximising battery life) and an integrated rubber seal that ensures complete water resistance to reduce the possibility of damage in harsh environments. Also, at the touch of a button, the pH tester will automatically re-calibrate itself when used in conjunction with pH buffer solutions.
Each 8100 Plus pH tester unit incorporates an easy-to-use BNC connector and a waterproof Lumberg screw-locking type connector. This allows a wide range of interchangeable thermistor probes to be used. It is important to note that maintaining your pH meter is necessary, and if not carried out, then incorrect measurements of pH may be taken. The pH electrode must always be washed in clean water or a cleaning solution and should be stored in a storage solution to prevent it from drying out. The probe tip should not be touched unless with a damp tissue or cloth for cleaning. The instrument's performance and warranty will be affected if the sensor dries out completely.
