The Needle Penetration Probe from ETI Ltd is suitable for use with liquids and semi-solids.It is able to penetrate materials such as soft rubber and plastic.

ETI Needle Penetration Probe (1.8 x 130 mm)

The ETI needle penetration probe is part of a wide range of type K thermocouple probes.  It is made from a tough stainless steel material and has a fast response time of less than 2 seconds.

Use the needle penetration probe when dealing with liquids, semi-solids and materials such as soft rubber or plastic.

The fast response time indicates how long it takes for the sensor to reach at least 66.6% of a final reading.  According to ETI this is an industry standard of measuring response times.  This is dependent on the substance which is being measured so it’s difficult to obtain an accurate reading without knowledge of the application.
