How Do I Switch On/Off the BW RigRat Area Gas Monitor?

The BW RigRat Area Gas Monitor is an ATEX-approved transportable gas detector with a purpose of alerting you to a gas leak within its proximity. Its main use is in applications where temporary zone monitoring, such as repair fence line is required.

The BW RigRat is very easy to use and only requires the use of one button to switch on and off and navigate the menus. To switch the unit on, hold the power button down until the countdown completes. The BW RigRat will then begin a sensor self-test and if passed will show the next calibration date. There will then be a short sensor warm-up period and once the countdown is complete the unit should show the gas values at normal measurement mode.

How Do I Navigate the Menu of the BW RigRat?

The LCD display and menu of the BW RigRat are easy to navigate and by pressing the button you can scroll through the following menu items:

• Bluetooth pairing screen
• Bump testing
• Calibration information and test results
• TWA and STEL readings
• Peak readings

How Can I See the Next Calibration Date of the BW RigRat Area Gas Detector?

There is an additional menu which can be accessed by holding the yellow button down to proceed. Doing this will show onscreen the:

• Next calibration dates
• Sensor ranges
• Correction factors
• High, low, STEL and TWA alarm setpoints
• Authorization and approvals

To switch the unit off hold the power button in until the countdown completes and then release it to allow the unit to switch off.
